$850 for the breeding season.
Season starts when mare is bred and ends when the foal is weaned. Leasers have the option of on or off farm lease. If you choose on-farm lease, you will responsible for board costs at Green Star Equestrian. If you choose off-farm lease, you will be responsible for taking the mare to your farm or boarding facility. The mare must be returned after the foal is weaned unless you decide to lease her again. Either lease requires you to be responsible for all vet care, shots and farrier care while the mare is pregnant and after she foals. You are responsible for stud fee on the stallion of your choice. The end result is that the foal is yours to keep. Mares for lease are only available to be bred to a Thoroughbred stallion. This is a great option for someone who wishes to have a foal but does not want to purchase a broodmare.
